If they think you’ve been abusing the company credit line, don’t expect a severance package. That’s termination with cause.
You’re using indefinite pronouns so I’m not sure who “they” are. If you mean that *you* are trying to convince the company that you didn’t make the charges, that’s fine. However, the company has a viable argument that you did not safeguard company interests and let someone get the card number.
Thats a reason to be fired and possibly be brought up on criminal charges especially if the company is paying the bills on items that are not company related. Not only will you not get any severance package, you won’t be eligible for unemployment. This is a serious violation of your company’s policy and the law.
If the person knowingly made the personal charges and expected to sneak it throught the company sure.
The company realizes that mistakes happen. If he accidentially paid with the wrong card, the company should see this.
